Indian benchmark indices opened higher on Thursday, extending gains after the RBI kept interest rates unchanged in its latest monetary policy review. The BSE Sensex opened at 78,782.43, up 201.43 points (0.26%) from its previous close of 78,581, while the NSE Nifty 50 opened at 24,641, gaining 16.35 points (0.07%) from its previous close of 24,624.65.

At the time of filing this report, the Sensex was trading at 78,768.81, higher by 187.81 points (0.24%), while the Nifty was at 24,639.95, up 15.30 points (0.06%).
