Stock market today: How Nifty50 and Snesex performed in previous trading?

Indian benchmark equity indices ended higher as investors cheered a sharp decline in crude oil prices and signs of easing geopolitical tensions in West Asia. BSE Sensex climbed 544.39 points, or 0.70%, to close at 78,639.03, while NSE Nifty advanced 390.70 points, or 1.60%, to settle at 24,774.30.

It marked the fourth straight session of gains for domestic equities, with technology, services, industrials, FMCG and metal stocks leading the advance. InterGlobe Aviation, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, ITC and Axis Bank were among the biggest gainers, while Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel lagged.

Broader markets also participated in the rally, with the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices ending in positive territory. Investors also welcomed continued foreign institutional buying, reflecting improving confidence in Indian equities.
