Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin have been married for almost 29 years. In a recent interview promoting his memoir, ‘The Steps,’ Stallone looked back on his relationship with her and everything it has meant for both of them. From meeting in a restaurant in 1988 to staying married for almost 30 years, Stallone and Flavin have surely come a long way. In one of his recent interviews with Tracy Smith on ‘CBS Sunday Morning at 92NY,’ the actor opened up about his relationship and how he will never be as good as her.He and Flavin dated for nine years before officially tying the knot in 1997. He recalled, “I wish I’d married my wife about eight years earlier. I was like such an idiot, procrastinating. Because, you know, I’m still actually learning about relationships that bad. So I regret that. And I’m sorry, baby.” He also opened up about how the delay might have been because of his relationship with his parents.Stallone led quite a rough life and has been open about the abuse he endured in his home while growing up. He mentioned, “There is that. There is that. So a lot of people that have these issues, it’s not your fault. You know, it’s just the way you evolve it.”

Further on in the interview, the 80-year-old looked back on their years together and shared just how happy he is with her and how “I’ll never be as good as her. She’s just magnificent; she has kept me alive.” The ‘Tulsa King’ star added, “And it took me so long to turn my head around and go, ‘Oh, you have the greatest gift in the world right here, and you’re looking out there, you fool!’”

The couple had met one another for the first time in 1988, while they were dining at the same restaurant in West Hollywood, California. At the time, Stallone had already established his name in the market, while Flavin had just started in the industry as a model. In 2023, during one of the episodes of ‘The Family Stallone,’ the ‘Rocky’ actor recalled how the two had an instant connection when they first met.“I remember vividly the first time I met Jennifer,” he said. “I was in this dark restaurant with a few people. She came in, and, whoa! Something happened. I just felt, like, this jolt, like—”Oh, did we just have a minor earthquake or something?” he shared at the time. Flavin had also added, agreeing with her husband and sharing, “We just hit it off; it was crazy. We were inseparable all night.”The couple stayed together through a lot of hardships in life and even briefly separated in 2022. However, they got back together and reconciled within a month and have stayed together since then. Flavin, 58, and Stallone, 80, share three daughters: Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
