England captain Harry Brook has set his sights on finishing the T20I series against India in style, with a series whitewash and the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings firmly in his team’s sights.Having already secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series, England head into the final T20I in Southampton full of confidence after dominating India throughout the contest. A victory in the fifth and final match would not only complete a memorable 4-0 series triumph but could also see England replace India as the world’s top-ranked T20I side.

Current ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings

Rank Team Matches Points Rating
1 India 57 15,315 269
2 England 37 9,867 267

Brook admitted the prospect of climbing to the summit of the rankings has become a major source of motivation for his side.“We’ve been told if we win the next game, we go to world No. 1 and that’s definitely a prize that we’re eyeing up,” Brook said in press conference. Despite India’s struggles in the series, Brook was quick to acknowledge the quality of the opposition while praising England’s execution.“India are a strong side. They probably haven’t been as good as they have been over the last couple of years, but we’re really happy with the way that we’ve executed our plans,” he added. The England skipper believes completing a clean sweep against one of the strongest T20 teams in the world would be a landmark achievement for his side.“To beat India 4-0 would be a pretty special series win, if I’m being honest, and to go No. 1 in the world would be even better. That’s our main aim. We want to go out there and try and beat them convincingly again. We’ve got to go to Southampton, try and assess the conditions as well as we can, and that’s something that we’ve done really well in this series so far,” Brook concluded.

England’s dominance under Harry Brook

England’s remarkable consistency under Brook has been one of the biggest reasons behind their rise. Since he took over the captaincy, the Three Lions have won 19 of their last 22 completed T20Is, with the run also including a semi-final appearance at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where they were eliminated by eventual finalists India.
