Top stock market recommendations: Vedanta, Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL), and Ashok Leyland – Aakash K Hindocha, Vice President – Research, Nuvama Professional Clients Group/Nuvama Wealth has picked these as the top stocks to buy on August 27, 2026. He has shared his views on Nifty and Bank Nifty:Vedanta (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 286.50
  • Stop Loss: Rs 273
  • Target: Rs 314

After finding support near its 200-day moving average, VEDL has also closed and held firmly above its 50-day moving average since 4 trading sessions. Yesterday’s move not only re-affirmed a trend line breakout but also provided a cup-and-handle pattern breakout, creating an increasingly attractive picture for the stock. This candle’s low near 273 is now seen as a strong base.Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 1434
  • Stop Loss: Rs 1375
  • Target: Rs 1555

Since the past 1.5 years, the CDSL stock is gradually forming a symmetrical triangle pattern. With price located right at the brink of this pattern’s upper bound and with 60% of the pattern’s shape already complete, a fresh breakout seems likely from current levels. On the daily chart, the 50 and 20 SMA crossover is providing further optimism for an upward move.Ashok Leyland (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 179.05
  • Stop Loss: Rs 171
  • Target: Rs 196

So far this month, ASHOKLEY had consolidated after a swift up move between late-July and early-August. Now, price action suggests a continuation of this uptrend. Furthermore, the 14-day RSI also cooled off towards 55 and is now strongly moving above 60, signifying a pickup of momentum. Stock appears well-set for a trend continuation upwards, with support near its 200-day moving average placed near 170-171.Index View: NiftyNifty trended lower yesterday followed by a lower closing after the CAS session, marking Nifty’s candle at half a percent in red for the day. Overall, the range of 24000 – 24200 continues to be a strong base for the index. Continuing a buy on dip stance, we expect the upside to unfold towards 200 DMA resistance near 24660.Bank NiftyBank Nifty was relatively stronger in yesterday’s session, closing half a percent higher. The index continues to hold on to its 6.5-year polarity support and has been finding repeated buyers near the 57150 mark. With the same point of 57150 acting as support for upside of 58300 / 58600, Bank Nifty continues to attract fresh buyers on dips as its 200 DMA has been reclaimed after a brief stint below the same.(Disclaimer: Recommendations and views on the stock market, or any other asset classes or personal finance management tips given by experts and analysts are their own.
