Top stocks to buy today on October 1, 2026

Top stock market recommendations: Aakash K Hindocha, Vice President – Research, Nuvama Professional Clients Group/Nuvama Wealth has pickled DLF, Adani Green Energy, and PVR INOX as the top stocks to buy today on October 1, 2026. He has also shared his views on Nifty and Bank Nifty:DLF (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 674
  • Stop Loss: Rs 650
  • Target: Rs 724

DLF has been consolidating within a price band for the past 12 weeks now, with the recent price action in play while the stock holding its neck above its 200 DMA as well as 200 WMA, an end to this consolidation is seen on the upside. Given the higher low structure on charts from the start of this fiscal, this consolidation is likely to give a breakout on the upside. A quick 7-8% rally northwards is likely to commence in this series.Adani Green Energy (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 1278
  • Stop Loss: Rs 1212
  • Target: Rs 1400

Stock has retraced 50% of its rally from March 2026 lows to the highs of July 2026. At the same juncture, a double bottom formation is in play supported by a dynamic moving average fielding higher. Tailwind on Adani group is visible on all large names with Adan Green likely to find buyers at the current support zone of 50% retracement. A 10% rally from CMP is unfolding in the month to come.PVR INOX (BUY):

  • LCP: Rs 1242
  • Stop Loss: Rs 1180
  • Target: Rs 1360

A four year sloping trendline breakout is seen on weekly charts of PVR INOX. Adding to this there is a 200 WMA crossover as well on weekly charts which has occurred on this counter after 21 months. Given its closing above its previous day’s high on Wednesday which allowed for a 3rd consecutive monthly closing in green – stock looks ready for making a fresh swing high on daily and weekly charts as the ongoing breakout continues to hold.Index View: NiftyNifty has ended over 500 points lower so far this week after closing after being on track for 8th consecutive weekly closing in red for the first time in 25 years. Targets of sub 22700 have been met along with testing of 200 WMA. With oil stabilizing near $100 / bbl and US10Y nearing its 2007 resistance any further extended downside is not seen. The MMI index reading is also at sub 20 mark which suggests extreme fear on indices. A closing above the 200 WMA is now needed by today’s end of day to confirm this reversal attempt on Nifty. Level to watch for is 22600 with today’s weekly closing, only below the same a fresh downside opens.Bond Yields have rallied in US due to strong economic data along with weak demand in t-bill auction which has triggered fear of further rate hike to cool off inflation which is high due to sustained elevation of oil prices. Spread between India and US10Y has hit a fresh multi decade low with spread now at 188 bps.Bank NiftyBank Nifty is down -950 odd points for this week after completing both of its downside targets of 55050/54650 on Tuesday. Markets are pricing in a 25 bps rate hike by the RBI in its MPC meet next week which could widen the spread between US10Y yields and India 10Y yields allowing some solace in the selloff.US10Y is also surging towards its 2007 resistance of 5.29%. Currently we are shifting the stance to wait and watch as it has completed its downside target sharply. The important level to defend on downside is 53850 in tomorrow’s weekly closing.(Disclaimer: Recommendations and views on the stock market, or any other asset classes or personal finance management tips given by experts and analysts are their own.
