Amavasya or New Moon day is one of the most significant days in Hindu religion and people perform various religious and spiritual activities on this particular day to appease their ancestors and seek their blessings as we have already mentioned that Amavasya is associated with ancestors. They show their gratitude and devotion. People perform Pitru Tarpan and Pind Daan and organize Gayatri Path for the ancestors’ salvation.According to the astrology, the Moon is almost invisible in the sky during the New Moon phase.
