UGC NET June 2026 answer key out: NTA opens objection window for 84 subjects

UGC NET answer key 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC NET June 2026 examination today, August 16, 2026. Candidates can now view the provisional answers and their recorded responses through the official UGC NET website and challenge any question within the notified window.The UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026, across 87 subjects. The examination determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor positions and admission to PhD programmes. NTA has kept the challenge facility open from August 16 to August 18, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.Answer key released for 84 subjectsNTA said provisional answer keys and recorded responses are being uploaded for 84 subjects. The remaining three subjects — English, Commerce and Sociology — are not included in the current release.According to the public notice, a committee was constituted to examine complaints concerning various types of errors in the question papers of these three subjects. NTA said a separate public notice covering English, Commerce and Sociology will be issued later today based on the committee’s recommendations.Candidates can access the provisional answer key and recorded responses through the official UGC NET portal.UGC NET answer key challenge windowCandidates who disagree with an answer in the provisional key can submit a challenge only through the online facility during the notified period.The challenge window will close on August 18, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The processing fee is Rs 200 for each question challenged. Payment can be made through debit card, credit card or net banking until the challenge window closes.

Challenges sent through email, fax, letter or any other offline method will not be accepted. NTA has also stated that a challenge will not be considered unless the prescribed processing fee has been paid.How NTA will process objectionsChallenges submitted by candidates will be examined by designated subject experts. If an objection is found to be correct on merit, NTA will revise the provisional answer key and use the revised final key to evaluate candidates’ responses for result preparation.The processing fee of Rs 200 will be refunded in full for every challenge accepted by the expert panel. NTA will not communicate individual decisions separately to candidates.
